This DIN protector plug prevents any damage to the DIN scuba tank valves, which are usually caused by impacts during a transfer of scuba tanks prior to and after diving.  Pressure release is a must on those plugs, since if by mistake you pressurize the valve while the plug is fitted, then is very complicated to remove the plug, and most likely the diving activity will be canceled.
